Hi. We've stayed at many Hampton Inns across the country. Unfortunately, the Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Milwaukee is in the worse condition of any we've stayed at. It started at the public parking garage next to the hotel. Convenient, but dark and dirty, as parking garages go. You open the door to the hallway for the hotel and it is dirty and beat up. We used the restrooms right there and they were disgusting. There are two elevators, one is out of service. We took the small, beat up elevator to the lobby. It seemed everything was run down, in need of updating, and dirty. The front desk person was very unfriendly and didn't want to be bothered. We headed up to our room. Seemed like everywhere we looked there were paint, wallpaper, dirty doors and carpet issues. Our room was big, quiet, the air conditioning worked, hot water, comfortable bed. Just run down and dirty and needing major updating. I hate being so honest but we stay at enough Hampton Inns that this property is truly an outlier for Hampton Inns. We had breakfast the next morning. Out of things and again, dirty. Tables were not wiped clean, ceiling grate hanging down, windows that were dirty. We used the restrooms just off the lobby and they were disgusting. This property is in need of a major overhaul. We would never stay at this hotel again, even though it is so convenient to everything right downtown. Please Hampton Inn/Hilton, you are better than this.

Our family booked three separate rooms at Hampton Inn this past weekend for a girls trip. Unfortunately, I have to assign it a single star just to write this review - I would really like to give zero stars. Immediately walking into the hotel we were met with hot air trying to be covered up by several box fans. I imagine the stagnant, hot air in the lobby was getting to the workers at the front desk because we were then greeted by a woman with a less than desirable personality checking us in. When we finished checking in and got up to our rooms we realized the hot air did not end at the lobby. There was no air in the entire hotel. Nobody had bothered to mention this to us while we were checking in. Also, we had booked two queen beds and all three rooms ended up getting two full beds. The only good thing about this hotel is the location, but there were several other hotels right in this area. I would highly recommend staying at one of those instead- unless you are curious about how hot it is in hell, then this is the hotel for you. After bringing up how hot our rooms were no apologies were issued, or any explanation was offered by the hotel staff. We would not stay here again.

Horrible experience. Checked in for a bachelorette weekend on Saturday 8/27/22. We had 2 rooms, one of the rooms was already occupied so they had to move rooms. Then the room they got moved to had water all over the floors, tile and carpet. The other room had no air conditioning but they gave us a fan... that doesn't work well when the room is 80° and you have hot flashes. Then when we went to get ready the next morning one of the rooms only had 1 towel, not sure how that's supposed to work with a room full of women. When we called down for more towels we were told we needed to come to the front desk right now. Apparently the room with no towels and no AC was never checked in and the snotty girl at the front desk said we were using a fraudulent card and we were going to have to leave immediately. It was not fraudulent however we switched it to a different credit card. We then proceeded to tell her the women with the room that had AC was leaving that afternoon so we would just move to that room and cancel the other. I ended up getting my leg sliced open while in that room on a piece of metal that was hanging out of the side of the bed. Then we ended up getting charged for both room both nights... it was honestly a joke. We were also supposed to have joining rooms when that was brought up to the girl at the front desk she said they didn't offer them. However they second room had a door to the room next to it. Will never stay there again.

I usually don’t like to write negative reviews but having worked in hospitality for 7 years I had to let my experience be known. I was in town for a work event and the event went long. I checked in late. My reservation was already bought and paid for. Upon check-in they told me they were overbooked and that there was no room for me. They just assumed I would leave. That’s not how it works. I had no where to go. If the establishment overbooked they then need to “walk the guest.” That means they need to find another hotel or a room somewhere, pay for it and pay for my ride there. I was completely astonished that they were originally going to do nothing. I said I would sleep in the lobby if need be. I had no where to go. Security did not take too kindly to that comment nor was security empathetic to that fact that I had bought and paid for a room and now was told I had no place to sleep. The front desk eventually found a room for me with two beds. The room had been used. The other bed was already used and the other bed had not. I slept in the unused bed of course. Throughout all of this I received no discount for being in a USED room, no compensation of any sort. Granted I am glad I had a bed to sleep in but I paid for an unused room thank you. First and last time there. No wonder airbnb does so well. You have people that are true hosts that care about your experience. I doubt you will find that here. If security had his way, he would have kicked me to the curb with no refund.

The worst hotel experience I have ever had. The room keys and refrigerator in the first room did not work. They moved me to a completely different floor, where the air conditioner was not working. It was mid-June, 90+*. I had to go back twice to get the room keys to work for this room. Parking is ridiculous; the garage that is attached to the hotel is run by the city and they have no arrangements with the hotel, so you have to pay for parking every time you leave the garage. The rooms are old and need to be updated, badly. The price is outrageous; especially for the quality of the rooms and poor customer service. The lady at the front desk could not have been any less thrilled to have people staying at the hotel. The breakfast was just okay. The waffles and pre-packaged breakfast breads were the best things offered. The milk was warm and sour both mornings. The "cook" did not give a hoot about the quality of the food and took frequent, long breaks during the breakfast hours. He locked the door to the kitchen, so the person at the front desk couldn't get in to restock items. No attempt was made to apologize for the constant inconveniences and I did pay the full amount for my stay.
