I'm usually a huge fan of Hampton Inns due to their relative affordability and usual high standards when it comes to cleanliness and maintenance. However, we are disappointed with the overall condition of the Hampton Inn & Suites Milwaukee Downtown. It's a shame, because this location a very convenient place to stay if you want to see a Bucks game as it's a short walk to Fiserv Forum, and there's an attached parking garage with reasonable rates. We have stayed here previously in one of their 2 Queen rooms and the room we had was fairly modern and clean, but on our most recent stay we decided to upgrade to a 1 bedroom 2 double bed suite, and the room was, to put it nicely, not great. It was in need of major renovation, the bathroom was subpar at best, with very weak water pressure and a toilet that barely flushed. The outlets on the nightstand didn't work, which is a big pain when you need to charge your devices overnight. At least the beds were comfortable and it was very quiet. As other guests have mentioned, one of the elevators were out, which didn't cause us much trouble, but it is a little inconvenient. The lobby and common areas are also showing a lot of wear. Our room wouldn't open using the Hilton Honors app digital key, but the front desk attendant was friendly and got us keys. I think next time we'll try one of the other properties in the Milwaukee Downtown area and give this place a pass, which is a shame because I almost exclusively stay at Hilton properties.
The room was good for the price you paid. Stayed in a one bed suite. Beds are clean but the pull out bed should not be considered if you're looking to book for 2 adults and 3 kids. The pull out was not comfortable. The location is two blocks away from the Milwaukee Sports Center and one block away from 3rd St Market. We enjoyed our stay.
Horrible hotel. Managed horribly and you can tell based on the condition of the rooms, lobby, elevator etc. that there is a lack of care within. Showed up after check in time to be told our room wasn’t ready and to come back. Couldn’t come back cause we had an event to get to so they gave us a lower quality room that was available at the time instead. Expecting a discount or refund I was told the price of this new room tonight is actually more than the room you booked for 2 months ago so no discount. Really!!?!?!?. Scammed out of $$$. Got to the room and found an unmade dirty bed with stains, TP on the floor and hair in the shower. Call the front desk to have the issues taken care of and got a knock on the door 10 minutes later. I WAS HANDED A NEW SET OF SHEETS TO CHANGE THE BED MYSELF!! I couldn’t believe it. Please please please save your money and stay literally anywhere else!
We stayed at this downtown Milwaukee hotel for the annual shamrock shuffle happening nearby. The overall experience was less than ideal. We arrived at the hotel and the front doors were locked, staff kept directing us to use the door that was locked until they eventually realized the door was not opening for us. Once they came to let us in they checked me in. They just handed me the room key and told me my room number. They did not mention anything about the hotel amenities or check out time or the Wi-Fi. We quickly learned the hot tub and pool were closed. There was no mention of this prior to arrival and this was the main reason for picking this hotel. After checking in we used the bathrooms off the lobby and they were very dirty, no soap, no hand paper towels. Additionally, the main elevator off the lobby was broken. We went to our hotel room which was pretty clean. However, one of the lights was burnt out, tv remote was barely working and the bathroom fan and light were also out. Aside from the broken things, the room was clean. When it came to checking out we were asking if the hotel validated parking or if we could pre pay, but the front desk worker looked confused and just told us to pay at the parking gate.
I selected a room on the 7th floor when it was time for me to check in on the app. I then called the hotel prior to my arrival about an early check in (I am currently 8 months pregnant and had been traveling all day). I was told I could not check in until 4pm. When I arrived at the hotel, I was then able to check in, but the room I selected was still unavailable. So I decided to go with a room on the 5th floor instead since I was extremely exhausted. The room was not what I expected and was extremely small compared to the original room that I was supposed to have.I was staying at the hotel for a wedding the weekend of April 8th and was highly disappointed that only 1 elevator worked and often times had to wait awhile for the elevator or walk up or down stairs at 8 months pregnant. Furthermore, I requested some towels and wash cloths for my room and it took about an hour to receive them. When I did get them it was all hand towels and I requested the larger body towels. I then called the front desk for the larger towels and was told there would be a wait since they were still drying. The wifi/internet in my room did not work at all and my digital key worked my very last night. I did not have a pleasant stay at all.
